Cow-Nosed Rays in the Pacific Coast
October 24th, 2012
Mystic Dive Center is a foremost scuba diving school in Playa Ventanas Beach. The dive center offers several aquatic facilities that vary from discovery scuba to a full range of PADI courses. Playa Ventanas Beach has a unique location in Costa Rica; the holiday destination is bordered by Pacific Ocean on one side and by Caribbean on the other. Mystic Dive Center makes use of this superb uniqueness and proffers adventurous activities to tourists that include scuba diving, snorkeling, river kayaking, wildlife boat tours, fishing, hiking and horseback riding as well. Scuba diving and snorkeling take place at Cano Island and Ballena National Marine Reserve. The protected national parks have a plethora of interesting underwater wildlife that includes white-tip reef sharks, dolphins, manta rays, sea turtles, puffer-fish, angelfish, and schools of barracudas, humpback whales and much more. Booking for the trips must be made in advance; at least a day before. Although, Mystic Dive Center is not affiliated with any particular hotel, the staff will gladly arrange for your stay in a convenient hotel nearby the area.
For equipment, Mystic Dive Center utilizes the services of a top brand called Sherwood. BCD, regulators, masks, fins, snorkels, wet suits, and gauges are all of excellent quality. The tanks are 80 cubic feet i.e. 12 liters aluminum with hydrostatic testing and internal visual inspections. The new compressor is from a high-class company Bauer. The usage of eminent manufacturers means better control over security protocols and fast and smooth service. The dive center recommends travelers to be insured through DAN Insurance before coming to Costa Rica. In case of any unfortunate accident during diving, the expenses will be highly reduced.
Cano Island and Ballena Marine Nature Reserve are the prime destinations for scuba diving and snorkeling in Costa Rica. The dive center ventures out for the trip in the early morning around 6:30 a.m. and leaves for the dock at 3:00 p.m. A 90-minutes long boat-trip traverses the azure waters of the Pacific Ocean to Cano Island. Surrounded by beautiful ocean in the company of marine creatures, the ride becomes quite adventurous. On arrival, the dive master will tell you the best diving points and after diving, a picnic occurs under the cool shaded area. The best dive points in Cano Island are El Bajo del Diablo, Cueva del Tiburon, Los Arcos, El Barco and Paraiso.
