Location
Strategically situated amidst the forests and cornered by the Pacific Ocean, Pirate Cove was born in the nature’s lap. The scenery from every spot is spectacular and stunning! It’s a small resort that offers cabins and bungalows for an exclusive experience and air conditioned rooms for a comfort filled stay. The cabin rooms are hidden in the rainforests for privacy and an adventurous experience. The bungalows are closer to the deserted beach making the wave sounds audible and the ocean’s scent obvious to the senses!
Pirate Cove offers the easiest escape back to the times when man lived in harmony with the nature and its habitats with only basic amenities. Water sports and adventures are well known especially Scuba diving. Talking a walk in the light of the lush green jungles will assure you meeting monkeys, exotic birds and many forest animals.
Activities
Scuba Diving
The pacific water is clear and transparent. All you need to do is kneel down and peek over to watch ample of various kinds of fish swimming through. This would make you wonder, if the aquatic species are so colourful and amazing on the service, how mesmerizing they would be in the depths of the ocean where they originally reside! A wide array of bigger fish can not come till the ocean’s surface, to meet them you need to go in the deep water yourself. The time of the year also determines the kind of breeds that conquer the Oceans. These rare species include humpbacks, Orcas and pilot whales. Usually at a distance one can spot white tipped reed sharks, bull sharks and hammerheads.
If you are a dolphin fanatic you would love the spotted, bottlenose and spinners that the Pacific Ocean is home to in Costa Rica. Dive into the deep Ocean waters to meet an endless variety of fish.
Pirate Cove is a member of PADI International Resort Association called Cano Divers who exclusively serve diving for the hotel’s guests. PADI offers instructors for those who are beginners and are diving for the first time. The experienced ones can pick their level of equipment and dive with confidence. Moreover, courses to learn diving are also available.
Other water adventures include the Dolphin and Whale Tour, kayaking, jungle river journey, snorkeling, etc. The adventures outside the Ocean are mangrove tour, bird watching tour, a trip to the Corcovado National park and many more.
Accommodation
Ironically the prices are the same for all the different types of accommodation. Each accommodation option is spectacular and unique in its own way. The cabins are spacious, elegant and within the forests while the bungalows are cozy and comforting. The rooms of the bungalows are of polished wooden floors with sturdy fabric walls like tents. As much as the pleasant breezes and scent of mud and ocean seeps in, the insects and rains remain out of the rooms. Each room has a small terrace with a hammock and hairs for guests to enjoy the views in utmost privacy and comfort.
Comparatively the cabins are more spacious for larger families. The larger terrace opens up to the Drake River and the Pacific Ocean. The third choice of accommodating yourself would be the air-conditioned rooms that are loaded with comfort and luxuries. The air conditioning provides you a perfect relaxation after the hectic activities and the rooms are made for a long sleep after the tiring day. The windows open to the gardens and the tropical rainforests.
